Overall purpose of the job
Key Responsibilities	Handling cases involving the University in liaison with external lawyers where applicable. In consultation with the user departments, negotiate, draft,review all agreements and contracts between the University and other parties and report to the University ManagementBoard; Provide legal counsel to University Council and Management Board; Representing the University in all legal matters Advice the University on compliance with all the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements in its operations; Be a Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Public for the University;an Ensure formulated policies and procedures adhere to internal and external regulations; Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the University Management. Preparation of legal or quasi-legal documents for the University as may be required from time to time;
Qualifications and skills	ACADEMICS: Bachelor of Arts (Law) EXPERIENCE: Have served in the grade of Legal Officer for a period of Four,4) years or in a comparable and relevant position with working MEMBERSHIP: Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya OTHER: Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate RELIGION: Christian SKILLS: Have demonstrable ICT skills;
